How to square up a New York Beauty.

First cut a square from the background 1 inch wider than your projected finish block. So if you expect a  8 1/2" block, cut a 9 1/2" square.

Next take your New York Beauty Arc and place on your background.

The next part is a little strange to try.  ***PLEASE BE SAFE ON THIS--WATCH YOUR FINGERS!***  Put your ruler on edge of your arc.  Use your cutter and as you cut, keep your ruler right on edge of arc.  BOTH cutter and ruler move. (It's hard to take pictures with only two hands!)

Find the center of arc and background.

Pin from center out to edge.

Some of your background fabric will hang over edge.

Sew! :)

Iron.

Trim off "extra" tabs.

Then trim to desired size.

Voila!
